The Summer School

Our Summer School offers specialised sessions focused on the practical use of artificial intelligence in day-to-day legal service delivery. Participants will learn how to integrate AI tools into legal workflows and how to customise these technologies for bespoke tasks and unique use cases. It's a hands-on opportunity to explore the real-world applications of AI in law and enhance your efficiency.

Prof Miklos Orban

OPL GUNNERCOOKE

Miklos is a bi-qualified lawyer with 25 years of experience at the intersection of law and technology, specialising in AI solutions for legal professionals. He co-founded OPL (now OPL gunnercooke) and a regulatory consultancy, and serves as gunnercooke’s CTO, leading its legal tech and AI development. Miklos has extensive experience in both private practice and corporate roles, including as Director of Regulation at BT. He mentors law students and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, where he focuses on AI in law.

Prof Akber Datoo

D2 LEGAL

Akber is the founder of D2LT and advises financial institutions on Fintech and Legaltech to optimise business and ensure regulatory compliance. He has led D2LT's growth across the UK, US, and Asia, collaborating with industry leaders like ISDA and ICMA on legal agreement digitisation. Akber co-chairs the Law Society's Technology and Law Committee and has authored books on legal data, smart contracts, and digital transformation. He also teaches Cyberlaw and Fintech at the University of Surrey.
